Kaja Kallas, Vice President of the European Commission and the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, arrived in Kyiv on a visit, accompanied by European ministers. Their visit coincides with the anniversary of the tragedy in Bucha, which has become one of the most horrific symbols of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
This was reported by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga on X.
“Today we mark the tragic anniversary of the massacre in Bucha. On that day, horrific photos of slain civilians shocked the entire world.
Such a significant European presence today demonstrates that justice regarding this and other Russian atrocities is inevitable. Full accountability for Russian crimes is crucial for restoring justice in Europe. And today we will advance efforts to ensure accountability.
These days also mark four years since the beginning of the liberation of Ukraine’s Kyiv region and other territories occupied by Russia in 2022. This is a reminder of the heroism of our defenders. Ukraine knows how to win.
This visit is a sign of true courage and solidarity with Ukraine,” Sibiga wrote.
Prior to this, a Hungarian delegation led by Gabor Csepek, State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, arrived in Ukraine to hold talks on resuming operations of the Druzhba oil pipeline and inspecting its condition.
