On June 20, a traffic accident involving a wild animal—a moose—occurred on the road leading out of the capital, resulting in traffic delays or temporary stoppages. The circumstances of the incident and information about possible damage are being investigated.

 

On the Brest Highway, a passenger car collided with a moose.

“Due to the traffic accident on the Brest Highway, traffic is disrupted in the direction of the exit from Kyiv,” the Kyiv Patrol Police reported in a statement to tsn.ua.

Footage shared online shows a moose lying on the roadway. Next to it is a car damaged in the collision.

Medical personnel arrived at the scene of the accident. Police noted that the driver of the car sustained an injury to his arm.

“Investigators are determining all the circumstances of the accident,” the patrol police added.

A major traffic accident occurred in Kyiv on June 5, killing four people and injuring three others. The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Vadym Hetman and Ushynsky Streets near Karavaevy Dachi. Two young police officers were killed in this accident.

The day before, a farewell ceremony was held at the St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery in Kyiv for two beat officers from the Solom— Lieutenant Denys Budchenko and Senior Lieutenant Dmytro Bondarchuk.
