A new pedestrian bridge will soon be built in the park on Pryrichna Street in the Obolon district of the capital. It will become part of the renovated recreational area and a new spot for Kyiv residents to relax.

This was announced on May 17 by Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

According to the mayor, the project is being implemented in cooperation between Kyiv and Vilnius as a symbol of partnership between Ukraine and Lithuania.

“We are building a pedestrian bridge across the backwater inspired by King Mindaugas’s Bridge in Vilnius. The idea for its creation arose as a symbol of the long-standing partnership between Kyiv and Vilnius and a sign of support for Ukraine during the war,” Klitschko noted.

The new structure will be part of a large-scale renovation of the southwestern section of the park on Pririchna Street. Before developing the concept, city officials conducted three rounds of open public consultations with local residents. Klitschko emphasized that the project has not only infrastructural but also significant social importance.

“Creating yet another comfortable space for Kyiv residents to walk and relax. During wartime, such places are particularly important—they help people recover emotionally and maintain psychological resilience,” he emphasized.

The new bridge is expected to become one of the highlights of the renovated recreational area in Obolon and a popular spot for walks among the capital’s residents.
