After touring with Marina Satti, Antigoni takes the stage at Eurovision

Antigoni will represent Cyprus in the second Eurovision semi-final today. The singer has long been building her career between London, Cyprus, and the Greek music scene, and is now taking the stage at one of Europe’s biggest events, according to the official Eurovision website.

The artist blends contemporary pop, hip-hop, and Mediterranean influences. It is this style that has made her stand out among the young performers of the new generation. Antigoni was born and raised in North London in a family with Greek-Cypriot roots. She has often said that since childhood she has lived between two worlds—the British and the Mediterranean.

At just 14 years old, the singer signed her first music contract. Since then, she has been actively writing her own songs and searching for a sound that would blend her culture with contemporary pop music. “I’ve always wanted my music to reflect where I’m from,” Antigoni said.

Over the years, the artist has built a fairly large international audience. Her popularity grew especially after the collaborative track “El Helwa Zahra” with Egyptian singer Ahmed Saad. The song became very popular in the Middle East and North Africa.

In 2025, Antigoni toured the UK and Europe alongside Marina Satti, who represented Greece at Eurovision 2024. A little later, she opened for Eleni Foureira in London. Fans often call Antigoni “the new wave of Cypriot pop music” because of her modern style and vibrant stage energy.

However, the artist hasn’t been without her share of controversy. Some critics on social media accused the singer of making music that’s more geared toward TikTok and trends than “serious” pop. Her appearance on the British TV show Love Island a few years ago was also widely discussed. After that, Antigoni gained even more popularity, but some began to view her not just as a singer, but as a television celebrity.

The artist herself took these comments in stride. “People may know me from different projects. But music has always come first for me,” she said. Fans also frequently discuss her style—her vibrant looks, a blend of British street style and Mediterranean aesthetics.

Antigoni is active on social media and often shares behind-the-scenes glimpses of concerts, studio work, and preparations for performances. This is precisely what has helped her build a large young audience. Ahead of Eurovision, the artist stated that she wants to showcase “modern Cyprus”—open, emotional, and musically bold.

Today, Antigoni will perform eighth in the second Eurovision semifinal. A total of 15 contestants will take the stage to compete for a spot in the contest’s grand final.

Azerbaijani singer JIVA will perform today in the second Eurovision semi-final. This is not the artist’s first time in the contest—back in 2011, she was among the finalists in Azerbaijan’s national selection, and now she returns as one of the country’s leading music stars.

Romanian singer Alexandra Căpitănescu will take the stage in the second Eurovision semifinal today. The artist rose to fame after winning “The Voice of Romania” in 2023 and is now considered one of the country’s most promising young performers.
