David Beckham will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
Former England captain and global soccer legend David Beckham is set to receive his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
According to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the ceremony will take place on June 12 in Los Angeles. Beckham will receive the 2,849th star in the “Sports and Entertainment” category.
Hollywood actor Tom Cruise and the footballer’s wife, Victoria Beckham, will attend the ceremony. Radio host Ellen K. will serve as the event’s emcee.
Organizers note that Beckham’s induction is symbolic on the eve of the World Cup, which kicks off on June 11 in the U.S. They emphasize that the soccer player has made a significant contribution to the popularization of soccer in the United States and has become one of the most influential figures in global sports and pop culture.
Throughout his career, Beckham played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, the Los Angeles Galaxy, PSG, and the England national team, which he captained for six years.
After retiring in 2013, he became a co-owner of Inter Miami, where Lionel Messi currently plays.
