Netflix has removed the Ukrainian translation of "Masha and the Bear" from its platform
The streaming service Netflix no longer shows users the Ukrainian version of the Russian animated series “Masha and the Bear.” This was reported by Ukraine’s Minister of Culture, Tetiana Berezhna.
The decision came after Ukraine appealed to international streaming platforms to restrict the distribution of the animated series, which is considered Russian propaganda in Ukraine.
In early September, Berezhna met with Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos. One of the topics of discussion was precisely the distribution of “Masha and the Bear” on the platform.
According to the minister, Sarandos assured the Ukrainian side that the Ukrainian adaptation of the animated series is no longer available to Netflix users worldwide.
Berezhna emphasized that it is important to prevent Russian content from continuing to influence children in Ukraine and other countries.
