Netflix is developing a live-action Ravenloft series based on the Dungeons & Dragons universe. Alfonso Cuarón will serve as an executive producer, while John August will work as a writer and executive producer. Hasbro Entertainment is also involved in development, The Verge reports, citing Deadline.
The story of Strahd von Zarovich
According to Deadline, the series will focus on the origin story of the vampire darklord Strahd von Zarovich. Its plot will tell of power, love, obsession, and transformation into an undead being. The character's story traces his path from a tragic antihero to one of Dungeons & Dragons' most famous villains.

Ravenloft is one of the best-known campaign settings for the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop role-playing game. Earlier this year, the setting received an update titled Ravenloft: The Horrors Within.
Status of the Forgotten Realms series
