Olga Sumska survived the massive attack on Kyiv while taking shelter
Ukrainian actress Olga Sumska found herself in the epicenter of the explosions during a massive Russian attack on Kyiv on the night of August 20. On the eve of her 60th birthday, the actress, along with her husband, actor Vitaliy Borisyuk, took shelter and weathered the most intense phase of the shelling.
The fact that she was in the shelter during the attack is also confirmed by posts detailing Ukrainian celebrities’ reactions to the nighttime strike.
In the footage, the actress reacts emotionally to the explosions that rang out during the attack. Judging by the video, her husband, Vitaliy Borisyuk, was beside her, counting the explosions. At the time of recording, he had counted 16 explosions.
“What a horror,” Sumskaya said while filming the video.
According to Ukrainian media reports, on the night of August 19–20, Russia launched a massive combined strike on Kyiv using missiles and drones, forcing many residents of the capital to remain in shelters.
The morning after the attack, Olga Sumska recorded another video. Despite the ordeal of the previous night and lack of sleep, she set off for Kharkiv, where she was scheduled to perform.
“We’re heading to Kharkiv, despite this terrible night. I’ll get some sleep because we were up until morning,” the actress said.
Thus, following the massive shelling of Kyiv, Sumska did not cancel her work commitments and continued her performances.
Sumska shared this in a video posted on Instagram.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen condemned yet another massive Russian attack on Ukraine, emphasizing the need to strengthen Ukraine’s missile defense.
Fifteen people were killed as a result of the massive Russian attack on Kyiv on August 20. Another 39 people were injured.
Earlier, it was reported that damage to power supply facilities was recorded in the Brovary community as a result of the enemy attack.
