The Russian Federation's attack has damaged energy and oil and gas infrastructure, and there are casualties
As a result of a massive combined attack by Russia on the night of June 2, Ukraine’s energy and oil and gas infrastructure facilities were damaged. Workers were injured in the attack. Some consumers in Kyiv and seven regions were temporarily left without power.
According to the Ministry of Energy, power outages were reported in the capital, as well as in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Cherkasy regions.
“Energy workers are working around the clock to restore power to all customers as quickly as possible. Restoration work is ongoing 24/7,” the statement said.
In Kyiv, a production site and infrastructure of one of the energy companies were damaged as a result of shelling. Two energy workers were injured and hospitalized. Medical personnel are providing them with the necessary care.
In addition, oil and gas industry facilities were targeted. The attacks caused damage to infrastructure, but no employees were injured.
At the same time, no power restrictions for consumers are expected on June 2.
“No restrictions are expected today. Please check the official resources of your distribution system operators for any changes to power supply. Active electricity consumption today should be shifted to daytime hours—from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. In the evening hours, we ask consumers to use electricity sparingly, if possible, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. This helps reduce the load on the system,” the Ministry of Energy added.
