Another independent member of Energoatom's supervisory board has resigned
Bris Boyon, an independent member of the supervisory board of NAEK “Energoatom,” has submitted his resignation.
This was announced by Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Oleksiy Sobolev, according to Ukrinform.
According to the minister, the reason for his resignation is not related to financial issues or non-payment of compensation, but rather to a significantly greater workload than was expected at the start of the company’s reform.
“Launching Energoatom’s supervisory board requires significantly more time than they had planned. In fact, they often work full-time,” Sobolev explained.
He noted that Boyon is unable to work full-time, and another independent board member, Patrick Fragman, is stepping down due to a new full-time job.
Despite the resignations, according to the minister, the members of the supervisory board will continue to perform their duties until replacements are appointed to ensure the body’s uninterrupted operation.
Sobolev reported that they are currently considering about ten candidates for the supervisory board, with whom they will conduct interviews in the near future.
Among the key tasks of the renewed supervisory board are transforming Energoatom into a transparent company trusted by international partners and investors, as well as selecting new leadership with the assistance of an international recruitment firm.
As a reminder, Energoatomhas suspended some employees from work pending an anti-corruption investigation.
