Gasoline sales are being restricted in New Moscow amid the fuel crisis in Russia
A fuel crisis is unfolding in Russia amid continued Ukrainian strikes on oil refineries. In New Moscow, restrictions on gasoline sales have begun, while the shortage of automotive fuel, previously reported in occupied Crimea and Sevastopol, has now reached the Moscow region.

A fuel crisis is unfolding in Russia amid continued Ukrainian strikes on oil refineries. The shortage of automotive fuel, previously experienced in occupied Sevastopol and Crimea, has reached the capital region.
In New Moscow, signs began appearing at gas stations limiting gasoline sales to 60 liters per person and diesel fuel to 100 liters. This fuel distribution policy will remain in effect “until further notice,” according to reports noted by “VChK-OGPU.”
Prior to this, in Sevastopol, the Russian-appointed authorities initially limited gasoline sales to 20 liters per person and introduced ration coupons for diesel fuel, and later announced a “temporary” shortage of AI-92 and AI-95. In Crimea, they also began limiting sales to no more than 20 liters of AI-95 per person. Fuel sales limits were also established in other occupied regions of Ukraine—in the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions.
According to Bloomberg’s calculations, in May Ukraine set a record for the entire duration of the war, striking Russian refineries 16 times over the course of the month. Additionally, more than 10 strikes targeted oil pipelines, oil depots, and ports.
As a reminder, fuel prices have been updated in Ukraine: gasoline and diesel remain high.
