Jerusalem Post reports success of lysergide-based anxiety drug trial
Israeli outlet The Jerusalem Post reported that Definium Therapeutics announced successful results from the second late-stage clinical trial of DT120 for the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder. According to the company, a single 100-microgram dose reduced the anxiety scale score by 9.8 points after 12 weeks, while the score in the placebo group declined by 4.7 points.
Trial results
DT120 is a fast-dissolving tablet containing lysergide, the chemical name of the psychedelic substance LSD. The new study involved 245 patients: they received 100 micrograms of DT120, a lower 50-microgram dose, or a placebo.
Definium said the positive effect appeared as early as the second day after taking the drug and persisted for 12 weeks. In August, the company also reported a significant reduction in anxiety symptoms in the first DT120 study.

Definium CEO Robert Barrow said that two studies confirming the drug's effectiveness could improve the chances of regulatory approval. According to him, about a dozen programs developing treatments for generalized anxiety disorder had previously failed to receive approval.
The lower-dose group was added to reduce the risk of a situation in which participants could guess the assigned treatment because of characteristic side effects or pronounced sensations from the drug. At the same time, Barrow said that patients in both dosage groups could correctly distinguish the drug from the placebo. Definium expects to submit an application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for authorization to bring the drug to market in the first half of 2027.
