Game Science Showcased 15 Minutes of Black Myth: Zhong Kui Gameplay
The Chinese studio Game Science has released a 15-minute gameplay video for *Black Myth: Zhong Kui*—the second game in the *Black Myth* series. The video showcases the new protagonist’s combat style and select story segments, according to ECNS.
The video was released on the second anniversary of the launch of Black Myth: Wukong, which became a global hit. Wukong, based on the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West, was released on August 20, 2024. Nearly half of its sales came from overseas markets.

The new game is based on ancient Chinese mythology and folk legends about Zhong Kui—a character traditionally associated with subduing ghosts and demons. The hero’s design, who rides a tiger in the game, is inspired by a painting from the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644).
The project was announced last August and is still in the early stages of development. Game Science explained that they chose a new hero, as well as new approaches to gameplay, visuals, technology, and storyline, rather than rushing to create yet another game about Wukong.
