GTA 6 has opened pre-orders and announced its prices and release date
Rockstar Games has officially opened pre-orders for one of the most anticipated video games of recent years—GTA 6. The developers have also announced the prices of the various editions and the release date. The game took 13 years to develop, and development costs are estimated at nearly $2 billion.
GTA 6 will be released on November 19, 2026—initially only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC version has not yet been announced. Those who pre-order will be able to download the game as early as November 12—a week before the official release. Physical copies will go on sale at the same time—each box will include a poster and a map of the game world.
The Standard Edition will cost $80. Anyone who pre-orders or purchases the game by November 20 will receive the “Vintage City Park” pack and a one-month free subscription to GTA+.
The $100 Ultimate Edition offers much more:
- a multiplayer starter pack with in-game currency;
- exclusive online cars, weapons, and clothing;
- full vehicle customization—exclusive to this edition;
- additional story missions for the main characters.
GTA 6 is set in a modern-day version of Vice City—a fictional counterpart to Miami and its surrounding areas. For the first time in the series, the main character is a woman: Lucia has just been released from prison and is planning new heists with her partner, Jason.
The developers promise hyper-realistic graphics, smarter characters, and the highest level of detail in the series’ history. Hundreds of tracks have been licensed for the soundtrack.
