From soccer to esports: Zinchenko is officially joining CS2
Ukrainian soccer player and owner of the esports organization Passion UA, Oleksandr Zinchenko, will join the CS2 team at the IEM Atlanta 2026 tournament as a substitute. He is currently recovering from a serious injury and surgery.

The Ukrainian esports organization Passion UA announced that Ukrainian soccer player Oleksandr Zinchenko, who owns the club, will travel to the IEM Atlanta 2026 tournament as a substitute player.
Oleksandr plays for the Dutch club Ajax and is currently recovering from a severe knee injury and surgery, which has sidelined him for the remainder of the 2025/2026 season.
The IEM Atlanta 2026 tournament kicks off on May 11 with 16 teams competing for a $1,000,000 prize pool.
As a reminder, Ukrainian esports players Leo Team secured a milestone victory in the CS2 tournament.
In CS2, cases have been replaced with special terminals.
