Alex Karp to become the first investor in Fedorov’s defense startup
Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov is launching a defense technology company, whose first lead investor is expected to be Palantir CEO Alex Karp. CNBC Top News reports, citing Fedorov’s press service.
Karp’s investment
The size of the investment has not been disclosed. The company’s name, the technologies it will develop, and the extent of Karp’s involvement in its operations have also not yet been announced. Fedorov’s press service said that the next stages of cooperation with Palantir would be announced gradually.
In a video published by Fedorov on social network X, Karp said that the company could turn Ukrainian knowledge and experience of conducting war into a product for allied countries. He also called the project one that, in his opinion, could be of defining importance for the world.

War experience and new developments
Fedorov said that during the full-scale war, his team gained unique experience working with defense technologies in Ukraine and saw how technologies are changing modern warfare. According to him, the company seeks to apply this experience to create technologies that could be used by Ukraine and its allies.
Russia’s full-scale war, as an aggressor state, against Ukraine accelerated the development and deployment of drones, artificial intelligence, and battlefield software. After leaving the government, Fedorov engaged U.S. investors and technology company executives in projects related to Ukraine’s defense sector.
Separately, Fedorov is seeking U.S. support for a defense technology investment fund. Its possible areas include combat robotics, interceptor drones, and missiles with artificial intelligence technologies.
