Since the beginning of 2026, 1.6 billion hryvnia in unpaid taxes have been recovered by the government

In the first half of 2026, more than 1.6 billion hryvnia was recovered for the state and local budgets as part of tax evasion cases. This was announced by Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.

According to the head of the agency, the main indicator in such cases is the actual recovery of losses. Among the key examples: a company with defense contracts reimbursed 33 million hryvnias; a developer paid over 98 million hryvnias in land tax arrears, 60.3 million hryvnias were recovered in the Lviv region due to a scheme involving the artificial fragmentation of a business, and a retail chain in Zakarpattia paid over 25 million hryvnias. 

Thanks to the cooperation between prosecutors, BEB detectives, and the State Tax Service, losses are substantiated through expert analyses, forcing those involved to fully cover their debts to the state budget.

The High Anti-Corruption Court upheld the claim filed by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and ruled to seize, for the benefit of the state, the assets of Lyudmyla Slotyuk, the former head of the Main Directorate of the State Tax Service in Chernihiv Oblast, her mother, and her son, totaling over 8.5 million hryvnias.

Serhiy Hrynchyshyn, the former head of a department at the Odesa Customs Office, resigned from his position and declared over $240,000 in cash amid civil forfeiture proceedings. 

The former deputy head of the Ternopil Regional State Administration had his property confiscated and was sentenced to 8 years in prison.
