The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the appointment of Timur Tkachenko as head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration
On July 22, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the appointment of Timur Tkachenko as head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration. This was announced by Taras Melnychuk, the government’s permanent representative in the Verkhovna Rada.
“The appointment of Timur Firuddinovich Tkachenko as head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration has been approved,” Melnichuk said.
Prior to this, Tkachenko headed the Kyiv City Military Administration. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed him from that position on July 16.
In May, social media accounts in the capital reported that Tkachenko had submitted his resignation. He responded to these reports and suspected “certain political attack groups” of spreading fabricated information.
In April 2025, the Kyiv City Council passed a resolution that, according to Tkachenko, limited the powers of the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration. He later filed a lawsuit against Vitali Klitschko, the head of the Kyiv City State Administration, seeking to expand his powers.
