Vadeful wants to discuss personnel decisions in the Armed Forces of Ukraine with Sibiga
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful plans to hold talks in the near future with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga regarding the security situation and personnel decisions made by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy within the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to “Ukrainska Pravda,” citing “European Pravda” and DW, the German minister stated that he wants to discuss with his Ukrainian counterpart “the security situation in general, but, of course, also the personnel decisions made by President Zelenskyy.” “I would like to understand many of them,” Wadeful added.
According to him, to advance on the path toward the European Union, the Ukrainian government must continue reforms to build the rule of law, democracy, and parliamentary government. Wadeful emphasized that Germany is one of Ukraine’s strongest political, economic, and financial supporters and is interested in staying well-informed about developments in the country.
On the evening of July 21, following six days of protests, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the dismissal of Oleksandr Syrskyi from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and announced the appointment of Mykhailo Drapatyi to that position. The next day, Drapaty announced that he had received a directive from the president to continue and intensify offensive operations and to build up the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Also on July 22, decrees regarding the replacement of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Chief of the General Staff were published on the president’s website.
