Denis Bloshchynskyi, a columnist for “Ukrainska Pravda,” raised critical questions in his column directed at the Cabinet of Ministers, the president, and law enforcement agencies. He also mentioned young people holding signs in public squares and called for the development of accountability mechanisms for state institutions.
As Bloshchynskyi wrote, on July 7, the State Bureau of Investigations conducted searches at Vyriy Industries, which he described as one of the country’s largest manufacturers of FPV drones. The author claims that the searches took place without a court order, simultaneously at dozens of production sites, at the company’s office, and at the residences of its executives.
According to the investigators’ version of events outlined in the column, the company—which supplied drones to the state worth nearly 7 billion hryvnias—may have artificially inflated their prices. According to the author, the owner of Vyriy Industries cited data showing that the average price of the company’s 10-inch FPV drone is 16,314 hryvnias, while competitors’ drones cost 21,967 hryvnias. Bloshchynskyi noted that he does not presume to determine the truth of the matter, but he did raise questions regarding the procedure for conducting searches.
The columnist also mentioned a statement by “Ukrainian Armored Vehicles” dated July 9. The company reported that during the search, SBU officers allegedly beat the first deputy director in his own home, resulting in his hospitalization. According to the company, a command to “get on your knees” in Russian can be heard on footage from home security cameras. The SBU denied the assault.
In his column, Bloshchynskyi linked these incidents to the need for law enforcement agencies to adhere to proper procedures. Separately, he appealed to public figures, calling on them to develop concrete programs for the advancement of education, the military, healthcare, the economy, culture, and national security.
