Company linked to One Nation named buyer of Ashby’s shed — The Guardian
In Australia, Small Batch Brewing Pty Ltd, a company linked to the One Nation party, was named as the buyer of a $56,706 shed on a plot of land owned by the party’s national director James Ashby near Yeppoon, Queensland. This was reported by The Guardian, citing documents submitted to Livingstone Shire Council.
Land records show that Ashby bought the plot near Yeppoon in 2025. In the development application, Small Batch Brewing is listed as the buyer of the structure, while documents from an independent engineer attached to the council materials also name the company as the client. However, the publication was unable to establish how the company acquired the shed.
Ashby regularly conducts live television appearances for News24, formerly known as Sky News, from the building. According to the council, he has also received permission to build a house and an in-ground swimming pool on the plot.
Company owners and licences
Small Batch Brewing is jointly owned by Ashby, One Nation leader Pauline Hanson, and the party’s national treasurer Alexander Jones. The company has been described as a craft brewing project, but according to The Guardian, it has neither an alcohol sales licence nor the excise licence required in Australia to manufacture alcoholic products.

Ashby told the publication that Small Batch Brewing is not currently conducting commercial activity and will undergo the necessary licensing and approval procedures when the time is right. Data from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission indicate that the company’s principal place of business is One Nation’s headquarters in Brisbane.
The party’s car and aircraft
According to The Guardian, Ashby also uses a new Ford Ranger that Hancock Agriculture chief executive Adam Giles personally gifted to One Nation in April. Hanson said the vehicle would help the party’s election campaign ahead of the next federal election.
Ashby has regular access to a $2 million Cirrus aircraft that Giles’s employer, Gina Rinehart, gifted to the party. The aircraft is based at Rockhampton Airport near Ashby’s home, and he is its primary pilot. Ashby said the vehicle is used for campaigns and the needs of party branches, while the aircraft is not used for personal travel.
