Trump's words mean more than they seem in Comey case, judge considers dismissing indictment
At the hearing of James Comey's case in federal court in Alexandria, Virginia, Judge Michael Nachmanoff asked numerous questions of the prosecutors defending the prosecution, instead recalling the leaks of the Trump team's diplomatic defense that clearly expose the political nature of the prosecution. Comey's lawyer, Michael Drieber, argues that the president's public statements that "justice must be served" are an attempt to use the legal system for political retribution.

Drieber emphasized that Trump's firing of prosecutor Lindsey Galligan indicates manipulation of the law enforcement system and violation of basic constitutional values. During the hearing, prosecutor Taylor Lemons faced numerous questions from the judge about the evidence on which the prosecution was based. The judge also raised the issue of anomalies in the documents of the indictment, and finally issued instructions to both parties to prepare legal materials for the case, preliminary operating with the precedents of the Supreme Court.
