Brentford may not release Yarmolyuk to the Ukrainian national team
Yegor Yarmolyuk, who plays for the English club Brentford, risks missing the Ukrainian national team’s Nations League matches. The English club may not release the 22-year-old midfielder to join the national team’s training camp.
In late August, Yarmolyuk suffered a thigh injury during an English League Cup match. However, he subsequently returned to the field and played in subsequent matches.
Despite this, Brentford may keep the Ukrainian player with the team during the September international break.
Journalist Mykhailo Spivakovsky noted that this is not the first time such a situation has arisen with Yarmolyuk. According to him, Brentford has previously refused to release the player to various national teams on several occasions or restricted his participation in matches. In particular, this situation occurred during the European Under-21 Championship.
It is also reported that the English club’s medical staff traditionally uses international breaks to rehabilitate and treat injured players.
