Joshua may face Usyk in a third fight for the world title

Joshua may face Usyk in a third fight for the world title

Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk may face off again in the ring in a bout for the world heavyweight title.

This was reported by the BoxingScene website.

The British boxer’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, stated that his fighter’s ultimate goal is to regain his lost titles. "AJ’s" plan calls for a victory in his next fight against Christian Prenga on July 25, as well as a successful bout against Tyson Fury in the second half of 2026, which would allow him to challenge for any title.

The promoter expressed doubt about the likelihood of a third fight, as the boxers’ career paths have diverged, but noted that Joshua will always seek a rematch after two losses to the Ukrainian. Currently, the British boxer is training alongside Usyk at his camp in Spain, where the Ukrainian boxer is preparing for his bout against Rico Verhoeven. Alexander himself no longer plans to chase titles, and his team director, Sergey Lapin, noted that the boxer is also focused on the business side of things and intends to fight only three more bouts before retiring, which makes a third fight against Joshua highly unlikely.

Earlier, Fury officially announced his intention to face undisputed world champion Oleksandr Usyk in the ring for a third time.

WBC, WBA, and IBF heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk has officially completed his preparations for his upcoming bout against Rico Verhoeven
