Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca departs amid ownership tensions

The London-based club announced on Thursday that it had cut ties with Maresca after poor form left Chelsea in fifth place, trailing league leaders Arsenal by 15 points. The Italian coach’s relationship with key figures at the club reportedly deteriorated, with sources indicating dissatisfaction over Maresca allegedly ignoring medical advice regarding the workload given to players returning from injury.
Following a December match against Everton, Maresca publicly described experiencing his “worst 48 hours” since taking charge at Chelsea, citing a lack of support for himself and the team. This comment caused consternation within the club. The managerial change appears aimed at stabilizing the club and getting Chelsea’s season back on track
