Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbyk will remain in Italy but will switch teams. The Ukraine national team forward is set to move from the Rome-based club to Bologna as part of a major transfer deal in order to get more playing time and regular action in Serie A.

Ukrainian national team forward Artem Dovbyk has moved from Roma to Bologna on loan. The Ukrainian’s transfer was a key element in a major deal between the clubs involving Argentine forward Santiago Castro.

Roma and Bologna have fully agreed on all terms of the exchange. The Rome-based club is acquiring 21-year-old Argentine forward Santiago Castro for 35 million euros plus 10% of any future resale. In return, Artem Dovbyk is heading in the opposite direction—to Bologna on loan.

It was the inclusion of the Ukrainian forward in the deal that helped the parties quickly break the deadlock in negotiations. For Bologna, signing Dovbyk is an opportunity to significantly strengthen its attacking potential without incurring significant direct costs in the transfer market.

For Dovbyk himself, the move to Bologna will be an opportunity to relaunch his career in Italy and secure a stable spot in the starting lineup after a period of intense competition and uncertainty with the “Giallorossi.”

The parties have already agreed on the main terms of the transfer and are expected to sign all necessary documents in the near future to officially announce the deal.

Dovbyk joined Roma in 2025 and spent two seasons in Rome. In his first year in Italy, the Ukrainian scored 17 goals and recorded three assists in 45 matches.

Last season was less successful for the forward: 18 matches, three goals, and three assists. At the same time, Dovbyk missed a significant portion of the season due to injury.

This was reported by Sky Sport.

Earlier, Oleksandr Ovcharenko won the WTT doubles tournament for the second time this season.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian 7-a-side soccer team won the European championship title for the first time in history. In the final match of the continental championship, the “blue-and-yellows” defeated the tournament hosts—the Italian team.

Oleksandr Usyk believes that British boxer Anthony Joshua will defeat Tyson Fury in their upcoming bout. The world champion shared his prediction after Joshua’s victory over Christian Prenga.
