Kelly Sildaru finishes second at Snow League in New Zealand — ERR News
Estonian freestyle skier Kelly Sildaru took second place at the Snow League competition in Cardrona, New Zealand. As ERR News reports, the final head-to-head in the halfpipe discipline did not take place due to strong winds, and the final positions were determined by the semifinal results.
Victory in the first head-to-head
In the first matchup, 24-year-old Sildaru defeated Australian Indra Brown. The Estonian athlete scored 77 points for her first run and 74 for her second, while her opponent's best result was 72 points.
Following this victory, Sildaru advanced to the final, where she was due to compete against Challengers team representative Mischa Thomas. However, their matchup was cancelled due to weather conditions. Thomas won based on the semifinal results, where she scored 83 and 91 points.

Team standings
Sildaru competes in the World Challenge format, in which each team includes a male snowboarder and a female snowboarder, as well as a male freestyle skier and a female freestyle skier. She represents Team Europe alongside Finnish freestyle skier Jon Sallinen, Spanish snowboarder Queralt Castellet and Swiss snowboarder Jonas Hösli.
Sildaru's second place earned Team Europe seven points. The European team finished second in the overall standings with 27 points. Challengers won with 37 points, the Asia-Pacific team took third place with 22 points, and the North American team finished fourth with 14 points.
The next Snow League competition is scheduled to take place in early January in Aspen, Colorado, United States. Before that, the World Cup season will begin in late November in Innsbruck, Austria.
