Kvaratskhelia refused to speak Russian after winning the Champions League

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, a star player for France's PSG, refused to answer a question in Russian from a Russian journalist after the Champions League final.

This was reported by Publika.

After the match, the Georgian footballer spoke with journalists in the mixed zone. During one of his responses, a Russian journalist asked him to share his emotions about the victory in Russian.

In response, Kvaratskhelia said in English, “No, I can’t speak, sorry,” and then continued speaking with the media in Georgian.

The footballer speaks Russian because he played for Moscow’s Lokomotiv and Kazan’s Rubin from 2019 to 2022. After the start of the full-scale war against Ukraine, he left Russia and continued his career in Europe.

During the Champions League season, Kvaratskhelia played 16 matches, scoring 10 goals and providing seven assists.
