Soccer legend Kevin Keegan is battling stage 4 cancer
Legendary English soccer player and two-time Ballon d'Or winner Kevin Keegan has announced that he is battling stage 4 cancer. The 75-year-old Keegan spoke about his diagnosis during a public appearance in Newcastle. According to him, the disease was detected following a medical examination, and he is currently undergoing treatment and remains optimistic about his continued fight against the illness.

“I was in a car accident, and as a result, I had to undergo surgery. During the pre-surgery examination, it turned out that I had cancer. The doctors said they had a top-notch specialist to treat my condition, specifically stage four cancer. He said, ‘Kevin, there’s a new treatment option with an incredibly high success rate.’ When I asked, ‘What’s the percentage?’ he said, ‘33%.’ I thought it would be 60% or 90%. But I’m still here,” said Keegan.

74-year-old Kevin Keegan is a legend of English soccer. As a player, he played for England’s Liverpool, Newcastle, and Southampton, Germany’s Hamburg, and Australia’s Blacktown City.
As a member of Liverpool, Keegan became a three-time national champion, a two-time winner of the English Super Cup and the UEFA Cup, and won the FA Cup and the European Champions Cup. With Hamburg, he won the German championship and the German Cup. In 1978 and 1979, Keegan won the Ballon d’Or.
