Serena Williams is set to resume her professional career
Serena Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam champion and former world No. 1, is returning to professional tennis. The 44-year-old American will compete in the doubles draw of the WTA 500 tournament in London, which will take place from June 8 to 14.
Williams retired after the 2022 US Open but has now decided to return to the court. At the tournament in London, she will partner with Canadian tennis player Victoria Mboko.
Serena Williams has 73 WTA titles and 23 Grand Slam singles titles to her credit. She has won the Australian Open and Wimbledon seven times, the US Open six times, and Roland Garros three times.
The American is also a four-time Olympic champion and the only tennis player in history to have achieved a career “Golden Slam” in both singles and doubles.
