Real Madrid has signed sponsorship deals worth over $1.6 billion

Real Madrid has officially announced the signing of two major sponsorship deals, which will collectively bring the Spanish powerhouse over $1.6 billion. The club has extended its partnership with its long-standing key partners—the German sports brand Adidas and the airline Emirates

Both major deals significantly improve the Madrid club’s financial position and set new record benchmarks for the global soccer business.

The first major deal concerns the renewal of the partnership with technical sponsor Adidas, with whom Real Madrid has been working continuously since 1998. The parties have signed a new 8-year contract that will remain in effect until the summer of 2034. According to estimates by the authoritative publication Sportico, the total value of this long-term agreement is $1.1 billion. Spanish media add that the German giant will pay the “Royal Club” approximately 120 million euros per season. Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has already publicly called the signed agreement “the most important deal in the history of soccer.”

At the same time, the Madrid club’s management has settled the issue of the main title sponsor by extending its contract with Emirates for another five seasons. The UAE-based airline has been featured on Real Madrid’s jerseys since 2013, and under the terms of the new agreement, its logo will remain on the uniforms of the men’s and women’s soccer teams, as well as on the coaching staff’s gear. According to Finance Football, this five-year extension guarantees the club total revenue of 500 million euros. Consequently, annual revenue from the airline will increase to €100 million per season, whereas under the previous agreement, Real Madrid received approximately €70 million per year from Emirates.

Both parties—Real Madrid and Adidas—announced this on June 10.
