Marnus Labuschagne left out of Australia’s ODI squads
According to ABC News Australia, Australia’s cricket team has not included Marnus Labuschagne in its squads for the one-day series against Zimbabwe and South Africa. Matt Short, Ben Dwarshuis, Todd Murphy and Liam Scott were also omitted alongside the 2023 World Cup winner.
Squad changes
Australia are the reigning world champions in one-day cricket after defeating India in the 2023 final in Ahmedabad. Labuschagne scored a half-century in that match, but difficulties with his performances after the final led to his omission from the team.
The 32-year-old cricketer had missed only five of Australia’s previous 56 one-day matches. He was left out of the new squad after being included in the team’s squads for series against Pakistan and Bangladesh in May and June.

Matches in Africa
Mitch Marsh and Travis Head, who did not play in Pakistan and Bangladesh, have returned to the team. Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc will play only in the one-day series against South Africa.
Cooper Connolly, Oliver Peake and Joel Davies were also added to the squad. Australia will play three-match series against Zimbabwe and South Africa before later contesting a Test series against the South African team. The next One Day International Cricket World Cup will take place in around a year in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
