Ukraine’s No. 2 player, Marta Kostyuk, ranked among the top five female tennis players in terms of aces at Grand Slam tournaments during the 2026 season. The Ukrainian athlete recorded 83 aces across the four majors this year.

The leader in this category was Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan, the winner of the Australian Open and the U.S. Open, who recorded 116 aces. Kostyuk was also surpassed by Japan’s Naomi Osaka, Czech tennis player Linda Nosková, and Belarusian player Arina Sabalenka, who competed as a neutral athlete. This year, Kostyuk set new personal bests by reaching the semifinals at Roland Garros and Wimbledon and advancing to the fourth round of the U.S. Open.

Thanks to her strong performances, Kostyuk entered the top ten for the first time in her career in the latest Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings, securing the tenth spot. In the world rankings, she joins her compatriot Elina Svitolina, who is ranked seventh.

The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) released its updated world rankings as of September 14, 2026. Ukrainian tennis players have set a new national record: for the first time in history, six Ukrainian players have entered the top 50 at once.

Ukraine’s No. 2 player, Kostyuk, defeated a Russian opponent and advanced to the round of 16 at the US Open.

In the U.S., Noskova defeated Kostyuk and advanced to the quarterfinals of the US Open.

Marta Kostyuk advanced to the fourth round of a WTA 1000 tournament for the first time in her career.
