Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho said the team’s mental strength gives him confidence ahead of the away derby against Atletico in Madrid, Spain. The match is scheduled to take place on Sunday, with the city rivals separated by two points after six La Liga rounds.
Mourinho acknowledged that his team has problems in its play, but stressed the quality of the squad and the unity of the players. According to him, during his second spell at Real, he noticed that it has become increasingly difficult to hear anything positive about the team, although the club is aware of its strengths as well.
Real’s inconsistency
Real began Mourinho’s second spell in charge with six wins in seven matches. At the same time, the team’s inconsistent performances are raising concerns about its development. The Madrid side have won only one of their last seven away La Liga matches at the Metropolitano stadium.

Atletico’s squad situation

Alvarez missed the last two matches because of a muscle problem, but Simeone said he will take part in Sunday’s game — either in the starting lineup or as a substitute.
