Queensland premier did not disclose cost of relocating cricket pitch module — ABC News Australia
In Brisbane, Australia, after the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, a full-size cricket pitch module is planned to be moved to a new stadium in Victoria Park. Queensland Premier David Crisafulli did not disclose the cost of its installation and transportation. This was reported by ABC News Australia.
Testing over 18 months
In the coming weeks, the module is to be installed next to the existing block of pitches at the Gabba stadium. It will be monitored and tested for 18 months during training sessions and domestic matches.
The new pitch will use the same dimensions, clay base, soil and grass surface as the existing Gabba pitch. After the 2032 Games, the module will be moved to Brisbane’s new 63,000-seat stadium and installed there.

Costs within the Games budget
According to Crisafulli, the costs of installing and transporting the module will be included in the Games infrastructure funding package worth $7.1 billion. He said the initiative is intended to bring the Gabba’s distinctive features to the new stadium and cement Brisbane as the venue for the first Test match of the Australian cricket season.
After the 2032 Olympics and Paralympics, the Gabba will no longer be the home of cricket in Brisbane.
