GFA opens disciplinary proceedings against Kotoko and Debibi United in Ghana

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has opened disciplinary proceedings against Asante Kotoko and Debibi United following their Ghana Premier League first-round match. The clubs are accused of a possible breach of competition regulations related to the publication of a video review of the game.

Complaint over the video review

As MyJoyOnline reports, the GFA said that both clubs allegedly failed to publish a video review of the match within 48 hours of its conclusion. The association gave the clubs until Friday, September 11, to respond to the charges.

The matter concerns the opening match of the season, which ended in a 2-2 draw. For Debibi United, it was the first Ghana Premier League match in the club's history, in which the team earned one point.

The match and upcoming rounds

Asante Kotoko took the lead through a goal by Yakubu Dogo and came close to victory. However, the team promoted to the top division came from behind twice, so the match ended in a draw.
