Sydney to host four international rugby matches in one day
Four international rugby matches will be held at Stadium Australia in Sydney over the course of one day. Matches involving the national rugby sevens teams have been added to the previously scheduled double-header featuring Australia’s men’s and women’s national teams, ABC News Australia reports.
Matchday schedule
The matchday will begin at 12:00 with Australia’s women’s 15-a-side rugby team, the Wallaroos, facing Scotland in the WXV Global Series. This will be the Australian women’s first home meeting with the Scotland national team.
At 14:05, Australia’s men’s rugby sevens team will play Fiji, while at 14:25 Australia’s women’s rugby sevens team will face New Zealand. The programme will conclude with a Bledisloe Cup match: Australia’s men’s team, the Wallabies, will host New Zealand’s All Blacks at 15:45. All times are listed in Australian Eastern Daylight Time.

Statement by Rugby Australia
Rugby Australia chief executive Phil Waugh called the event a historic moment for Australian rugby, as four of the country’s teams will play on the same field on the same day. According to him, the programme will bring together elite male and female players in the 15-a-side and sevens formats in matches against renowned opponents.
Waugh also thanked the rugby federations of New Zealand, Fiji and Scotland for their involvement in organising the matchday. Australia’s women’s rugby sevens team are world champions, while Fiji’s men’s team are two-time Olympic champions.
