Ukraine's Chukanivska won gold at the European High Diving Championships for the first time in history

19-year-old Ukrainian athlete Nelly Chukanivska became the European high-diving champion, winning a historic gold medal for Ukraine at the European Aquatics Championships in Paris.

In the 20-meter platform diving competition, the Ukrainian athlete held a commanding lead after the first two rounds and further extended her advantage over her rivals after the third round.

In her final dive, Chukanivska increased the difficulty level from 2.7 to 4.0, earning 98 points from the judges.

At the end of the competition, the Ukrainian athlete scored 324.70 points, finishing ahead of Italy’s Elisa Cosetti (297.20) and Germany’s Mike-Jelena Halsbich (292.15).

This is Ukraine’s first-ever gold medal at the European Championships in women’s high diving.

Earlier, Elina Svitolina advanced to the third round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Toronto. In a tough match, the Ukrainian defeated Spain’s Jessica Buzas Manero 6–7, 7–6, 6–4. The match lasted nearly three hours, and Svitolina clinched the victory after three tense sets.

Earlier, Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina advanced to the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 tournament in Washington. In the round of 16, she defeated Polina Kudermetova, who previously represented Russia and now plays for Uzbekistan. Following this victory, the Ukrainian continues her quest for the title on American courts.
