Football clubs Kaizer Chiefs and Lamontville Golden Arrows played out a 0-0 draw in a Betway Premiership match at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, South Africa. It was Kaizer Chiefs' fourth draw since the start of the season and Golden Arrows' fifth in the championship, TimesLIVE reports.

Chiefs goalkeeper makes debut

Renaldo Leaner made his debut in goal for Kaizer Chiefs after joining from Sekhukhune United before the start of the season. He replaced captain Brandon Petersen, who has been ruled out for at least four weeks with a knee injury. In the ninth minute, Leaner made a save from Junior Dion's shot after he met Philani Kumalo's cross. In the 21st minute, Dion failed to reach Sithole's accurate low cross.

Missed penalty

In the 31st minute, referee Jelly Chavani awarded a penalty to Kaizer Chiefs after Golden Arrows defender Ntandoyenkosi Mabasa brought down Faiz Abraham. Goalkeeper Takzani Mbanjwa saved Lebohang Maboe's penalty with one hand.

At the start of the second half, Maboe was carried off on a stretcher with an injury resembling a hamstring issue and was replaced by Adolph Mtasingwa. Kaizer Chiefs entered the opposition penalty area more often but did not create enough dangerous chances. In the middle of the second half, the team brought on forward Godspower Igodaro, but Golden Arrows were closer to scoring late on. In the 90th minute, Tokozani Kumalo failed to convert from close range.
