The Spanish national team returned home with the World Cup trophy after defeating Argentina 1–0 in the final of the 2026 World Cup. Team captain Rodri personally carried the trophy off the plane upon arrival in the capital.
The players, led by head coach Luis de la Fuente, will be given time to rest before the official celebrations begin. The first item on the agenda will be a reception at the Zarzuela Palace, where King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, along with Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, will welcome the Spanish delegation.
Afterward, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and other high-ranking officials will host the team at the Moncloa residence. The national team will then take part in a festive parade on an open-top bus, and the celebrations will conclude at Cibeles Square.
