Defender Zeki Çelik has joined Juventus

Turin’s Juventus announced the signing of Turkish national team defender Zeki Çelik, who left Roma after his contract expired.

The player joined the Bianconeri as a free agent. After his contract with Roma expired on July 1, Çelik held talks with the Rome-based club regarding a new contract but ultimately moved to Juventus.

The 29-year-old defender, who represented the Turkish national team at the 2026 World Cup, signed a three-year contract with the Turin-based club.

At his new club, Çelik will compete for a starting spot with Frenchman Pierre Kalulu and Portuguese player João Mário, who has returned from a loan spell at Bologna.

Last season, the defender played 45 matches across all competitions, scoring one goal and recording four assists. Çelik played for Roma for four years.

This was reported on the Italian club’s official website.

As a reminder, Pelé’s jersey from the 1958 World Cup final sold for a record $4.9 million.

The Spanish national team became the first finalist of the 2026 World Cup, defeating France in the semifinal match.
