The Ukrainian national team was denied permission to host Nations League home matches in Krakow — Meczyki
The Ukrainian national soccer team will not be able to play its home matches in the new Nations League season at the Henryk Reyman Stadium.
The Ukrainian Football Association had planned to select the Krakow arena as the primary venue for its nominal home games this fall.
However, the Polish side responded with an official refusal to Ukraine’s request.
The main obstacles to reaching an agreement between the parties were complex organizational issues and the poor quality of the soccer field.
It is reported that the condition of the turf at the Krakow stadium raised serious concerns about the possibility of hosting high-level international matches.
The organizers were unable to guarantee full compliance with all strict regulatory requirements.
Due to these logistical and technical difficulties, the team led by Andrea Maldera is forced to urgently seek alternative options.
The leadership of Ukrainian football is currently considering other European stadiums capable of hosting the Ukrainian team and providing appropriate conditions.
This was reported by the Polish portal Meczyki.
