The missing "Silver Plate" belonging to the "Füchse Berlin" club was found in the basement of the office
The Berlin handball club "Füchse Berlin" has officially confirmed the return of its most prized trophy—the Bundesliga Champions' "Silver Plate."
The award, which the team won for the first time in history in June 2025, was believed to be lost following a brazen robbery at the club’s office.
The dramatic story of its disappearance began in November 2025, when criminals stole cash and the prestigious trophy, valued at around 12,000 euros.
For a long time, investigators feared the worst: in January 2026, a smelting furnace was seized from the suspects, leading them to believe that 2.9 kilograms of silver were irretrievably lost.
“The treasure was accidentally discovered by one of the employees during a routine inventory check—the plate had been carefully hidden behind shelves and boxes in a storage room,” the press center noted, citing German media.
The criminals were simply afraid to carry the massive case through the heavily patrolled Gendarmenmarkt square.
As it turned out, the robbers planned to return for the loot later, but due to the huge media coverage and police activity, they never dared to do so.
The club had known about the discovery since February but kept the information strictly confidential at the request of law enforcement to allow for forensic analysis.
Bob Hanning, the managing director of the “Foxes,” admitted that he is still amazed by this turn of events.
