Apple unveils iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max — The Verge
Apple unveiled the new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max smartphones at the company’s event on September 9. As The Verge reports, the models received the A20 Pro processor and, according to Apple, the longest battery life of any iPhone.
Colors and processor
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will be available in deep black, silver, glacier, and burgundy. The glass back panel is color-matched to each body finish.
The new devices continue the design that Apple introduced for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max in 2025. At that time, the company abandoned titanium in favor of an aluminum body, added a vapor chamber for cooling, and placed a horizontal camera block on the back, which Apple calls the plateau.

Previous changes in the lineup
The previous iPhone update also introduced an 18-megapixel Center Stage front camera. It allows users to take wide-angle selfies while holding the smartphone vertically.
The presentation of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max was Apple’s first event led by John Ternus as chief executive officer. He replaced Tim Cook on September 1, while Cook moved to the position of executive chairman of the company’s board of directors.
