Feedly attributed the slowdown in its web app to a technical error

The news reading service Feedly stated that a technical glitch caused a significant slowdown in its web app, which lasted more than a week. Some users, particularly paid subscribers, complained that the service was running so slowly that it was practically impossible to use, according to TechCrunch.

Feedly CEO Edwin Khodabakhchian told the publication that the front-end team was testing a fix. According to the company’s preliminary findings, the issue may have been related to the “Mark as Read” feature in accounts with a large number of folders. The fix was released on Friday, but the company is still verifying whether it has resolved the issue for all users.

Complaints also appeared on Reddit regarding the Feedly app for iOS, which in some cases failed to load, particularly on the beta version of iOS 27. Khodabakhchian said he was unaware of this issue but promised to investigate it and fix it quickly. According to him, the company continues to invest in the main app for iOS and Android.

The Feedly CEO also confirmed that the classic version of the mobile app was discontinued two weeks ago because it no longer met certain iOS and Android requirements. At the time of its shutdown, it had several hundred active users, who were not notified in advance. According to Khodabakhshian, news reading features remain a priority for the company despite its focus on artificial intelligence and cyber intelligence solutions.
