Google has revealed details about Googlebook laptops, for which it promises 10 years of updates. The first five models are associated with manufacturers Acer, Asus, Dell, HP and Lenovo. As The Verge reports, these devices may be a particularly good option for people looking for a laptop to use together with an Android smartphone.

Google promises 10 years of updates for the platform. The Verge noted that this may indicate the company’s intention to provide long-term support for the platform. Technical specifications, prices and release dates for the first models were not provided in the roundup.
