HP OmniBook 3 offers 16GB of RAM for about $520 — The Verge
The 16-inch HP OmniBook 3 laptop in the tested configuration is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. As The Verge reports, the model is regularly sold at Walmart and Amazon for around $520 and is intended for basic work tasks and everyday multitasking.
Key specifications
The test version of the OmniBook 3 has an eight-core Snapdragon X X1-26-100, Adreno X1-45 graphics, 16GB of LPDDR5x memory, and a 512GB NVMe M.2 drive. The laptop features a 16-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels, a 60Hz refresh rate, a matte coating, and claimed brightness of up to 300 nits.
The device weighs 1.66kg and is 14.73 to 16mm thick. Ports include two USB-C ports with DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery 3.0 support, two USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It also has a 1080p camera with an infrared sensor for Windows Hello unlocking, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3.

Battery life and trade-offs
The reviewer noted that the laptop handles regular work with several apps and dozens of open Chrome tabs, including while playing video. In his assessment, the 68Wh battery can provide about 12 hours of mixed use involving web browsing, music, or video. A compact 65W GaN-based USB-C charger is included.
At the same time, The Verge described the screen and speakers as basic: the display covers 62.5% of the sRGB color space, and it is difficult to use outdoors even in the shade. The chassis is made of plastic, has some flex, and may creak. Other drawbacks included a stiff keyboard that resulted in missed keystrokes during testing and mediocre sound quality without pronounced low frequencies.
In Geekbench 6 tests, the OmniBook 3 scored 2,142 points in single-core mode and 10,593 points in multi-core mode. The laptop is not designed for gaming or graphics-intensive work, but the review author considers its performance sufficient for everyday tasks thanks to 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD.
