Apple unveils iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo in Singapore — Channel NewsAsia
In Singapore, Apple unveiled the flagship iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max smartphones, as well as its first foldable iPhone Duo. The base version of the iPhone 18 was not shown during the announcement. As Channel NewsAsia reports, the iPhone 18 Pro starts at S$1,899 for the version with 256GB of storage.
Camera, processor and displays
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max retained the design of the previous iPhone 17 Pro lineup but received updates to the camera, processor and battery. The main change was a 48-megapixel Fusion camera with a variable aperture. It is intended to improve shooting in low light and create a blurred-background effect in portraits.
The smartphones run on the A20 Pro chip with a dual 16-core Neural Engine. Apple says the new Siri AI features can assist with drafting emails, sharing photos and answering questions. The assistant can also recognize on-screen context, including information about a meeting in a message thread, and add it to the calendar at the user's request.
The iPhone 18 Pro has a 6.3-inch screen, while the Pro Max has a 6.9-inch display. Both models have a 120Hz refresh rate and a cooling system designed to maintain performance under load, including in games.

Battery life and pricing
According to Apple, the iPhone 18 Pro provides up to 34 hours of video playback, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max provides up to 43 hours. Both devices support wireless and fast charging.
The 512GB version of the iPhone 18 Pro costs S$2,199. The iPhone 18 Pro Max with 256GB starts at S$2,099, while the 512GB variant costs S$2,399.
How the iPhone Duo differs
The foldable iPhone Duo is set to become available on October 23, starting at S$3,099. The device offers a larger screen but will not have the new camera of the Pro models, telephoto zoom or the Face ID system. The company did not name a release date for the base iPhone 18.
