There will still be frosts in Ukraine on May 1, but warmer weather is just around the corner
On Thursday, May 1, Ukraine will see cool weather with no sharp rise in temperatures. At the same time, forecasters predict a gradual transition to true spring warmth in the coming days.
This was reported by meteorologist Natalka Didenko, as well as the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
According to forecasts, nighttime temperatures will range from +1 to +4 °C, with possible frosts in some areas. During the day, temperatures will rise to +8 to +11 °C, and in the south and northwest—to +10 to +13 °C.
Light rain is expected in the northern, central, and eastern regions. At the same time, no significant precipitation is forecast for the west and south of the country.
Forecasters explain that weather conditions are being shaped by an area of high atmospheric pressure moving in from Western Europe—from an anticyclone centered over Germany. At the same time, the upper layers of the atmosphere are still under the influence of the remnants of a cyclone, which is causing localized precipitation, particularly on the Left Bank and in Crimea.

In Kyiv, temperatures are expected to reach around +10 °C during the day, with a chance of light rain.
According to Didenko, temperatures in Ukraine will rise significantly as early as this weekend, May 2–3. And at the beginning of next week, true spring weather will set in—warm and mostly sunny.
As a reminder, at the end of April, some regions of the country recorded abnormal weather phenomena, including snow.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center released a forecast for the second month of spring, according to which temperatures and precipitation will remain within the climatic norm.
After a cold winter, Ukrainians are looking forward to spring warmth, but April will bring not only sunshine but also weather “swings.”
