Prosecutors from the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office and the Kryvyi Rih Eastern District Prosecutor’s Office have filed an indictment against three members of an organized group involved in the illegal sale of weapons and ammunition.
According to the investigation, three residents of the Kyiv region, one of whom heads a public organization, established a scheme to supply weapons from the combat zone to the capital for subsequent sale throughout Ukraine.
The perpetrators sought out buyers through personal contacts and operated through intermediaries.
In September 2025, they were detained in Kryvyi Rih while selling 25 Kalashnikov assault rifles, a light machine gun, and 8,500 rounds of ammunition. They received $18,600 for this shipment.
During searches, law enforcement officers seized another 4,500 rounds of ammunition, mobile phones, and a vehicle belonging to a charitable foundation, which was used to transport the weapons.
The defendants are charged with illegal handling of weapons as part of an organized group (Part 3 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The possible involvement of other individuals in this scheme is currently being investigated.
The Security Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with the National Police, exposed and shut down a group of individuals who were illegally selling “captured” weapons and ammunition taken from the combat zone.
As a reminder, a man was detained in Kyiv for promising “medical exemption” to evade mobilization.
A Russian agent who was plotting the assassination of General Biletsky was also detained within the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
